William I'Anson Ltd are pleased to offer for sale the Ex - South African Grand Prix 1959 Lotus 11 Le Mans Series 2. 

Supplied new to South Africa for George Mennie and David Wright. Raced in events including the South African and Rhodesian Grand Prix, the South African 9 hours and the South African Tourist Trophy.

Converted to 'Eleven GT' specification in the late 1960s with a GT body. Later returned to the UK in 1990, and reunited with other parts from 543 in 1997. Sold to Nick Matthews in 2000, who began restoring 543. Bought by the current owner in 2004, who completed the restoration with no expense spared.

Raced with great success by the current owner in historic racing, where it is without a doubt an absolute front running Lotus Eleven. Beautifully maintained with a continuous history, 2015 FIA HTPs, FIVA Passport and only dyno time on the Coventry Climax FWB engine. 

A well known and highly competitive entry to the Stirling Moss Trophy, GTSCC, Gentleman Drivers, Le Mans Classic, Goodwood and so much more.
